About Megan:

Hi there, fellow human navigating the beautiful chaos of running a business.

I’m the HR person who doesn’t make you roll your eyes. You know that feeling when someone mentions “HR” and you immediately think of policy police? Yeah, that’s not me.

Here’s the thing: I’ve been around this block more times than your mail carrier. Over twenty years bouncing between in-house HR roles (nonprofit, public transportation, global hi-tech manufacturing), consulting across industries from biotech to higher ed, and even diving deep into the spiritual side of human potential.

I’m a Navy vet who learned early that people perform best when they’re treated with respect, not micromanaged into submission. I’ve got the credentials (B.S. in HR Management, M.A. in Organizational Management, Ed.D. in Org Development & Change, SHRM-CP) but more importantly, I’ve been through enough workplace weather – from drizzle to full-on HR hurricane – to know that most storms pass, but how you prepare (and how you show up during) makes all the difference.

But here’s where I’m different

I believe work should be a mutual love affair, not a hostage situation. I think emotions are superpowers, not weaknesses. I know that when you ignore the elephant in the room, it doesn’t disappear, it just gets bigger and starts breaking the furniture. And I’ve learned that leading with heart first, then head, creates the kind of workplace culture where people actually want to show up.

I’ve seen what happens when companies get culture right

Employees become your biggest cheerleaders, turnover drops to almost nothing, and productivity soars because people are actually engaged. I’ve also seen the flip side – the costly complaints, the revolving door of talent, the founder or CEO wondering why everyone seems miserable when they’re “trying so hard.”

The truth?

You didn’t start your business to become an HR expert. You started it because you’re passionate about solving problems, creating something amazing, or making the world a little better. But somewhere along the way, you realized that hiring, managing, and keeping good people is actually the hardest part of the whole thing. That’s where I come in.

I don’t believe in cookie-cutter solutions or one-size-fits-all policies. Every business has its own personality, its own challenges, its own magic. I get to know YOUR business, YOUR people, YOUR vision, and then we build something that actually works for YOUR reality, not someone else’s template.

Whether you need help navigating a tricky employee situation, building systems that don’t suck the life out of everyone, creating a culture that attracts top talent, or just someone to handle all the HR stuff so you can get back to what you love, I’m your person.

Because at the end of the day, business is about humans. And humans are beautifully complex, wonderfully weird, and capable of incredible things when they’re supported, valued, and treated like the adults they are.

Let’s build something amazing together. Schedule your intro convo today.
